Personalized for Long-Term Health and Aesthetic Benefits
Dental implants are one of the best ways you can replace one or more missing teeth. Made to imitate the function of healthy teeth, dental implants improve oral health and look and feel just like natural teeth. We use dental implants to restore single and multiple teeth or as the support structure for a full arch prosthesis, all of which significantly improve your ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently. Our board-certified periodontist is specialized in dental implants, and we leverage advanced technology throughout your treatment to improve the precision of treatment planning, accuracy during the surgery and restoration, and predictability of successful outcomes. We specialize in both the placement and restoration of dental implants and conveniently provide all these services in our office, personalizing your treatment to provide the greatest oral health and aesthetic improvements to your smile.
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Dental implants are the only restoration option that improves your oral health, in addition to providing function and aesthetics. While dental bridges and dentures can replace missing teeth, they do not address the jaw bone deterioration that occurs when even a single tooth is lost. Because dental implants are surgically placed into the jaw, they provide the pressure when you chew that is necessary for keeping the bone healthy and strong. Additionally, we restore your dental implants with lifelike and durable dental crowns, aesthetically matched in size, shape, and color to blend in flawlessly with the rest of your teeth. When fully restored, dental implants are virtually impossible to distinguish from your existing natural teeth!
Dental implants are a big investment, but one that will benefit you for years to come. Our specialized team provides a comprehensive examination of your mouth. This helps us determine your candidacy for dental implants and create a plan of action based on the condition of your oral health and how many of your teeth are missing. At this time, we will discuss any preliminary procedures, such as bone grafting, which we can provide conveniently at our office.
Our guided implant software enables us to virtually plan out your surgery from start to finish, based on the results of your x-rays. Using this software, we can show you a 3D model of what your smile will look like when fully restored with dental implants. From a technical standpoint, this allows us to find the ideal surgical route, then have a physical guide fabricated, which we use during the actual surgery. For you, this significantly improves your safety, and improves the predictability and success of the surgery by virtually eliminating all guesswork and margin for error.
For most patients, only local anesthetic is needed during surgery. We provide differing levels of sedation based on your needs. Once the area is fully numb, we use the custom physical guide to aid in surgically placing the dental implant post into the correct position in your jaw. This area is allowed to heal anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. We carefully monitor this healing process to ensure that the post is fusing correctly to the bone and becoming stable enough to be restored.
We take great care that all our dental crowns are fully customized to fit seamlessly along your gum line and between your existing teeth. This greatly lowers the risk for dental implant failure and improves the aesthetics of your new tooth once restored. After carefully determining that your dental crown fits perfectly, we cement it or screw it in place. You will leave our office with a brand new smile that is once again fully functional and free from any gaps!
